Key Idea 4: Regional Climate Differences

From the tropics to the poles, weather systems and climatic trends vary dramatically even though they all belong to the same global climate system.

Fun fact: The temperature in El Aziza, Libya reached 57.8ºC in September of 1922--the hottest ever measured on Earth! The coldest temperature measured on Earth was thousands of kilometers away in Vostok, Antarctica, where it reached a chilly -89ºC in 1983.
